Challenge
The project commenced with rigorous data research. The Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology provided broad themes where climate change's impact on Switzerland was evident: increasing heat days particularly in urban areas, rise in extreme weather events, glacier melting, and droughts potentially leading to significant wildfires.
The prototyping phase involved sketching, story mapping, and the development of an initial simple interactive prototype. This was an iterative journey where each prototype was subjected to brief testing sessions with a diverse group of individuals. Feedback from these sessions was invaluable, allowing me to refine the design, interaction, and content progressively.
of the new Climate
The information design aspect focused on distilling complex climatological data into clear, precise visual elements, while interaction design ensured these elements were navigable in an intuitive manner. Motion design brought the static elements to life, telling the story of Switzerland's climate future in a dynamic and engaging way.
